A position for a Knowledge Transfer Fellow (EPS/10376) is available to work as a member of the Knowledge Centre for Materials Chemistry (www.materialschemistry.org ) and based in OMIC. Applicants should have a strong research track record together with expertise in knowledge transfer and working with industry.  Further details available on www.jobs.ac.uk.

Recent work on the synthesis, properties and transistor performance of cyclopentadithiophene based polymers has appeared in Journal of Materials Chemistry, 2010, 20, 4347.

In 2005/6 the OMEC secured further funding from both the EPSRC and the Home Office. This additional support has brought in three new members, each leaders in their fields of research:

• Dr Patrick Fairclough, a physical chemist based at Sheffield
• Dr Aimin Song, and electrical engineer based at Manchester and
• Professor Douglas Kell, an informatics expert based at Manchester
