		<description><![CDATA[Additional support from EPSRC and the Home Office in 2005 brought in new blood to OMEC.]]></description>
			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In 2005/6 the OMEC secured further funding from both the EPSRC and the Home Office. This additional support has brought in  three new members, each leaders in their fields of research:</p>
<ul>
<li>Dr Patrick Fairclough, a physical chemist based at Sheffield</li>
<li>Dr Aimin Song, and electrical engineer based at Manchester <em>and</em></li>
<li>Professor Douglas Kell, an informatics expert based at Manchester</li>
