Joshua began his PhD in September 2009. He is working in association with Acal Energy Ltd., synthesising and testing platinum-free oxygen reduction catalysts for use in a hydrogen fuel cell. The project is co-supervised by Professor David Procter.

Joshua graduated from the University of Manchester in June 2009 with an MChem, having studied crystal growth in zeolites with Professor Michael Anderson for his 4th year project. In his spare time he enjoys music, gardening and cooking.
