Benjamin Lidster

Ben was born in North Yorkshire, U.K. in 1987 and grew up in Wigan. After finishing his 'A' levels he started an undergraduate degree at The University of Manchester in chemistry. After graduating in 2010 with a MChem degree he decided to continue his career in chemistry and started a PhD project working under the supervision of Prof. M. L. Turner. The project is involved in the synthesis and characterisation of novel cyclic conjugated polymers, in particular cyclic poly(phenylene vinylene)s.

In his spare time he enjoys keeping fit, going to the cinema and going fishing occasionally.
