I was born in Chester and raised in Dorset and gained a first in MPhys Physics from The University of Manchester, completing two masters projects, one relating to the characterisation of germanium semiconductors at liquid nitrogen temperatures, the other involved the probing of amino acids with neutrons.

I then went on to complete the nowNANO doctoral training centre choosing my PhD in the field of self assembled monolayer field effect transistors (SAMFETs). My work involves the fabrication and optimization of novel transistors based on the self assembly of organic semiconducting monolayers.
